Grand Hotel San Pietro Renovation Boosts Luxury Positioning

The Grand Hotel San Pietro renovation has reached completion with the launch of the 2026 season in Taormina. Lindbergh Hotels invested more than €16 million in the project, which began in 2023. As a result, the property has strengthened its position within Sicily’s luxury hospitality market. The renovation covered guestrooms, furnishings, facades, and public areas, while also introducing several new guest amenities.

Among the most notable upgrades, the hotel refreshed its historic villa facade with warm colors inspired by the Sicilian landscape. In addition, the Garden View rooms now feature elegant French balconies. The team also redesigned the panoramic swimming pool and completely reimagined the Rizza pool restaurant. Furthermore, the wellness area expanded with three additional treatment rooms, a dedicated couples’ suite, an ice waterfall, and new spaces focused on relaxation and sensory experiences.

The Grand Hotel San Pietro renovation has already delivered strong commercial results. According to company figures, the average daily rate increased from €355 in 2022 to €690 in 2024. Meanwhile, occupancy reached 75%, highlighting the success of the property’s repositioning strategy. Today, the hotel offers 63 rooms and suites, a café, a fine dining restaurant led by executive chef Luca Miuccio, and a private terrace overlooking Isola Bella.

Moreover, Lindbergh Hotels expects further growth in the coming years. The company forecasts revenue of approximately €10 million for the Taormina property, compared with around €3.5 million before the renovation. Consequently, the Grand Hotel San Pietro renovation stands as a clear example of how targeted investment can elevate a historic hotel into a leading luxury destination while generating substantial business growth.
