IHG Italy continues to expand its footprint with four new hotel signings. These additions will take the group’s portfolio beyond 50 operating and pipeline properties across the country. The latest projects include Crowne Plaza & Staybridge Suites Milan NoLo, Hotel Indigo Apulia Alberobello, and Garner Hotel Turin Porta Nuova. As a result, IHG strengthens its long-term growth strategy in one of Europe’s most dynamic hospitality markets. At the same time, the group expands its presence across both business and leisure destinations.
The most significant announcement concerns the dual-branded Crowne Plaza and Staybridge Suites Milan NoLo. The project is located in the rapidly evolving NoLo district. It will transform the existing Ramada Plaza Milan into a mixed upper-upscale and extended-stay development. The hotel is scheduled to open in January 2027. It will feature 167 Crowne Plaza guestrooms and 96 Staybridge Suites apartments. Guests will also enjoy several restaurants and bars, a swimming pool, a fitness area, and more than 1,000 square metres of meeting space. Moreover, the development marks the Italian debut of the Staybridge Suites brand. It also represents Italy’s first dual-branded hotel developed by IHG.
Meanwhile, IHG Italy will introduce Hotel Indigo to the Apulia region through a partnership with AG Group. The new property in Alberobello will open in 2028. It will offer 129 rooms, a spa, a fitness centre, and conference facilities. At the same time, Garner Hotel Turin Porta Nuova will open after the repositioning of the former Hotel Astoria. Stay Group will operate the hotel under a franchise agreement with IHG. It will become the second Garner property in Italy after Rome Aurelia.
These announcements confirm IHG’s confidence in the Italian hospitality market. Today, the company operates 32 hotels in Italy. Its portfolio includes Six Senses, InterContinental, Hotel Indigo, voco, Crowne Plaza, Garner, Holiday Inn, and Holiday Inn Express. Furthermore, more than 20 additional properties remain in the pipeline. These include the first Kimpton in Taormina, several Six Senses developments, and a Vignette Collection resort in Sicily. Consequently, IHG Italy continues to strengthen its position through a diversified portfolio and a steady development pipeline.
