After the announcement of the conversion of the former PCI building in via delle Botteghe Oscure into a 5-star hotel, the headquarters of the democratic party al Nazareno will also be converted into a luxury hotel. In particular, the conversion project will affect the ancient Collegio del Nazareno, dating back to 1630, not far from Piazza di Spagna. The property will be transformed into the Grand Hotel Nazareno, although it should not jeopardise the permanence of the national headquarters of the Democratic Party which has been housed on the second and third floors of the building since 2008.
According to the plan, the Dem offices will have a side entrance since the intention of the “Grand Hotel Nazareno srl” is that the main facade will be the entrance to the hotel. The “Grand Hotel Nazareno srl”, client of the works, is a subsidiary of the Federici (Fresia) real estate group, already active in the development and management of accommodation facilities through the Fresia Hotels & Resorts group. The group operates in the following structures: Terme di Vulci Glamping & SPA, the Noba Hotel & Residenze, the Navona Theatre Hotel, Hampton by Hilton Rome East and Hostel TrustEver. The group is also developing a Four Points by Sheraton, a new hotel under construction in the residential complex developed by the same company in the Grottarossa area, also in Rome.
The luxury segment of the city of Rome (Luxury Hotels Database-Italy®THRENDS) is heavily presided over by hotel chains. In fact, in terms of hotels, 64% of the luxury structures operating in the capital are chain-owned and represent up to 80% of the keys, of the segment, in the destination.
