iGeneration Opens Camplus Padova Portello with 242 Rooms

iGeneration has expanded its student accommodation portfolio with the opening of Camplus Padova Portello in Padua. The new residence offers 350 beds across 242 rooms. It also represents a €25 million investment by the iGeneration fund, which promotes and finances the initiative.

The property covers more than 8,600 sqm and provides affordable accommodation for university students. In particular, 40% of its beds benefit from significantly reduced rates. These receive support from resources allocated through Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP). The project therefore addresses the growing demand for student housing in Padua.

Investire SGR, part of Banca Finnat Group, manages the iGeneration fund. Its main investors include CDP Real Asset SGR and the European Investment Fund (EIF), part of the European Investment Bank Group. Several major Italian banking foundations and pension funds also participate, including Fondazione Cariparo.

The residence features 135 single rooms and 107 double rooms. Moreover, students can access several shared facilities, including study rooms, a communal kitchen, a gym and a playroom. Other services include reception, laundry facilities, bicycle storage and a garage. Archipolis designed the building, while Impresa CEV acted as developer and general contractor. Adiemme and F4Re handled the interior fit-out.

The project also focuses on accessibility and inclusion. It will serve as a testing ground for smart-home technologies designed for students with severe disabilities. This initiative forms part of a regional innovation programme involving the Universities of Padua and Venice (IUAV), alongside a group of companies.

Camplus Padova Portello adds to iGeneration’s growing national portfolio. The fund has already invested more than €200 million in sustainable student accommodation. Its target is approximately 3,000 beds across Italy. Existing projects include Naples and Brescia, while developments in Parma and Forlì are expected soon. Furthermore, construction is underway in Florence, Piacenza, Reggio Emilia and Venice Mestre. iGeneration has also launched a new fundraising phase to support further investments in student housing.
