Bzar Expands in Puglia with Hotel Cappello in Lecce

Bzar expands in Puglia by taking over the management of Hotel Cappello, a three-star property near Lecce railway station. The hotel offers around 30 rooms and recently changed ownership in a deal reportedly worth just under €1 million.

The previous owner, Fabers Srl, reportedly sold the property, according to industry insiders. Turismore Srl, a hospitality consultancy based in Matera, advised on the transaction.

Hotel Cappello comprises two buildings with distinct architectural features. The main building dates back to 1934 and retains significant elements from that period. The second structure dates to the 1950s. Together, they form a property with a strong connection to Lecce’s architectural heritage.

The hotel’s location also places it within an area undergoing significant infrastructure improvements. Lecce railway station is part of a wider redevelopment project. Plans include a second entrance on the opposite side of the station, a new bus terminal and a car park. The project also involves broader improvements to the station itself, supported by Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) and regional funding.

For Bzar, the addition strengthens its presence in the Italian hospitality market. According to the Chain Hotels Database, the group currently operates a portfolio of 51 properties nationwide. These include serviced apartments and hotels across the three-, four- and five-star segments. The portfolio comprises more than 1,700 rooms in total.

Bzar expands in Puglia with a property that combines an established location with the prospect of wider urban regeneration. The takeover adds another destination to the group’s national network, while the ongoing station redevelopment could further transform the surrounding area.
