Banyan Group Enters Europe and Accelerates Its African Expansion

Banyan Group’s European expansion gained momentum in the first half of 2026, as the Singapore-based hospitality company opened its first European resort in Montenegro. At the same time, the group continued to expand its international portfolio and delivered strong financial results. Revenue rose 14% year on year to SGD 235.2 million, while EBITDA increased 30% to SGD 56.2 million.

The group’s growth reflects rising demand across several hospitality markets. In Africa, international arrivals reached 81 million in 2025, up 8% from the previous year. According to the United Nations World Tourism Organization, the continent recorded the strongest growth among global regions. Furthermore, the World Travel & Tourism Council forecasts a 5.4% increase in Africa’s travel economy in 2026.

Banyan Group now operates nearly 130 hotels, resorts and nature retreats. In addition, its portfolio includes more than 30 branded residences and over 140 spas. These assets span 28 countries and operate under 14 different brands.

During the first six months of 2026, the company signed six additional management agreements, alongside a new royalty agreement in the United States. Branded residences drove much of the revenue growth, while hotel operations consolidated their performance.

Meanwhile, June marked a milestone for Banyan Group’s European expansion with the opening of Mamula Island by Banyan Tree in Montenegro. The resort occupies a restored nineteenth-century fortress on a small island at the entrance to the UNESCO-listed Bay of Kotor, also known locally as Boka Bay.

The property features 32 rooms, a Banyan Tree spa and food and beverage venues inspired by local flavours. Surrounded by the Adriatic Sea, the resort introduces the group’s luxury hospitality offering to a new European destination.

Overall, Banyan Group’s latest results highlight its continued international growth. Its European debut and expanding African presence further strengthen its global hospitality strategy.
