The Statuto group is about to close important transactions. The most recent movement is the definitive stop of the Meneghetti operation on the Costa Smeralda, in Sardinia. The company that owns the hotel Le Ginestre (4 * with 80 keys) was sold to the Statuto real estate group through the vehicle Slhre Fin 1 srl. The change took place last December, when Marvin srl, owner of the hotel, was sold to the new company based in Milan.
Slhre Fin 1 srl is headed by Giuseppe Statuto, a real estate developer who controls, among others, the historic Danieli hotel in Venice (which will be branded Four Seasons), the Four Seasons and the Mandarin in Milan and the San Domenico Palace in Taormina. Another sale, which in the past involved the Meneghetti operation, was Le Palme (4 * with 92 keys) which moved to Sixth Street. As it appears from the Rosewood Hotels & Resorts website, the opening of a hotel in Porto Cervo for the summer of 2023 continues to be announced. In this regard, rumors would see the brand having reached an agreement with the Statuto group.
The sale of the hotel Le Ginestre definitively puts an end to the projects of Enrico Meneghetti, an Italian-Swiss financier based in London. Meneghetti, two years ago, announced the operation that would bring competition to the historic hotels of the former Aga Khan, now owned by QIA’s Smeralda Holding, to Costa Smeralda. The brands selected for the operation would have been Delano (Le Palme) and Rosewood (Le Ginestre). The two operations were approximately 150 million euros, which included the acquisition of the two hotels and their complete renovation.
Furthermore at the destination, according to rumors, the Hotel Pitrizza (now Luxury Collection) has passed under Mandarin Oriental and the Hotel Romazzino (now Luxury Collection) instead, under Belmond. Yesterday, April 13, the first Conrad Hotel in Italy, the Conrad Chia Laguna Sardinia, opened its doors. Another important pipeline is already planned for July of this year by Hyatt with the 7Pines Resort in Baia Sardinia (5* of 74 keys) which had been acquired by “12.18 IM and Engels & Voelkers” through the specialized fund in the hospitality segment, the EV Leisure Hotel Fund.
In addition the Gruppo Statuto has signed an MCA contract with Rosewood for the management of a 5* in the Milanese fashion district in Via Borgonuovo.
