Radisson Blu Porta Vittoria will open in Milan in the first quarter of 2027, expanding the group’s presence in Italy. The announcement came during a press breakfast attended by Valerie Schuermans, Vice President for Western and Central Europe, and Mauro Vinci, Vice President of Development and Managing Director for Italy.
Located in eastern Milan, between the Duomo and Linate Airport, the new hotel will feature 258 keys. These will include 244 rooms and 14 apartments. In addition, guests will have access to meeting and event spaces, several dining options and a large outdoor terrace. The property will also offer access to a Virgin fitness centre spanning more than 2,000 square metres.
The development forms part of a wider urban regeneration project originally conceived by Roman real estate investor Danilo Coppola. However, legal proceedings left the building incomplete for an extended period.
Meanwhile, Radisson has confirmed the upcoming opening of Palazzo Sanzio, a Radisson Collection Hotel in Rome. Overlooking the Tiber, the 71-key boutique property will feature a restaurant and spa.
In Naples, the group has revised its plans for the former headquarters of newspaper Il Mattino. Rather than introducing the Radisson Red brand to Italy, the company will open another Radisson Collection hotel by mid-2027. The property will feature 135 rooms, three restaurants and a rooftop.
Furthermore, Radisson has confirmed a second Italian project for 2028. A 133-key Radisson Collection hotel will open at the former Royal Stables in Turin, in partnership with Hnh.
Looking ahead, the group will pursue a balanced strategy across leisure and urban destinations. According to Schuermans, this approach will also target secondary cities and emerging destinations. These include Bologna, Verona, Genoa, Bolzano, Bari and Sicily. Through these developments, Radisson aims to strengthen its Italian portfolio while diversifying its geographical presence.
