Club Med Targets Hong Kong Listing to Accelerate Global Expansion

Club Med is preparing for a separate listing of its lifestyle business on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, with the aim of raising at least US$500 million. Fosun International submitted the listing application in August, and the exchange approved the request at the end of the month. The transaction primarily concerns the French resort brand, which Fosun acquired in 2015 for approximately €917 million.

Today, the portfolio includes 69 resorts worldwide, with two properties in Italy. The five-star resort in Cefalù offers 332 keys, while the four-star resort in Pragelato has 251 rooms. In addition, the group plans a new resort in San Sicario, developed with REAM SGR. The project should open in December 2028 and will involve a €135 million investment. It will add approximately 400 rooms to the Italian portfolio.

Meanwhile, the business has strengthened its financial performance. According to the listing application, total revenues increased from €1.56 billion in 2023 to €1.95 billion in 2025. Adjusted EBITDA reached €390 million in 2025, representing a 20.2% margin. Therefore, the planned fundraising could provide significant resources to support the next phase of international growth.

The company aims to expand further across the Alps and the Southern Mediterranean. In particular, Sicily and Sardinia rank among its target destinations in Italy. Furthermore, Club Med is assessing opportunities across North Africa, Southeast and Northeast Asia, the Americas and the Caribbean. The Middle East could also become part of its future development strategy.

Overall, the group targets 85 resorts globally by 2030. The planned Hong Kong listing also reflects the brand’s broader repositioning towards the premium segment, completed in 2024. At the same time, the choice of Hong Kong strengthens the connection between Club Med and Fosun’s Asian financial ecosystem, marking a different direction from the potential Paris listing previously advocated by former chairman Henri Giscard d’Estaing.
