The Naples Airport Masterplan 2035 includes an airport hotel among the main developments planned for Capodichino Airport. Gesac recently presented the plan to the Campania Region, outlining more than €250 million in investments through 2035. Of this amount, approximately €230 million will come from private resources.

The masterplan also involves the acquisition of around 170,000 sqm of land for future airport development. Alongside the hotel, the project includes a new terminal dedicated to non-Schengen flights. The terminal will cover approximately 15,000 sqm and will support the airport’s international operations. Furthermore, the plan provides for new aircraft parking stands and a dedicated cargo and logistics area.

At the same time, Gesac plans to improve road access to the airport. Several measures will also target environmental sustainability, with investments of approximately €13 million. These initiatives aim to support the airport’s expansion while limiting its environmental impact. In addition, the development programme focuses on improving the overall efficiency of airport infrastructure.

The Naples Airport Masterplan 2035 targets sustainable traffic growth to 17.3 million passengers per year by 2035. Importantly, this increase will not require an expansion of the airport’s current hourly capacity. Instead, the plan focuses on upgrading infrastructure and expanding the airport’s surrounding areas.

The masterplan was approved by Enac in August 2026 and represents a significant investment programme for Naples Capodichino Airport. In particular, the planned airport hotel could strengthen the airport’s hospitality offer and provide accommodation for passengers and airport users. Meanwhile, the new terminal, cargo facilities and transport infrastructure will support the airport’s broader development strategy through 2035.
