Milan’s new stadium project will require a total investment of €2.302 billion, including €44 million for a four-star hotel, according to the latest official documents. The plans aim to ensure the arena opens in time for the UEFA European Championship in 2032. In addition to the stadium itself, the wider development will include commercial, retail, office and hospitality facilities.
The overall budget includes the cost of acquiring the site. Furthermore, ancillary developments will account for more than €370 million, highlighting the scale of the project beyond the main sporting venue. These facilities aim to create a multifunctional destination that combines sports, business, shopping and hospitality.
Among the planned investments, €44 million will fund 20,000 square metres of commercial and food and beverage space. Meanwhile, a further €33 million will support 15,000 square metres of retail areas, potentially forming a fully fledged shopping centre. The project also allocates €51.3 million to more than 23,000 square metres of office and tertiary space.
Hospitality will represent another key component of the wider development. Specifically, the investment plan earmarks €44 million for 20,000 square metres of accommodation facilities. According to the original plans, this component would include a four-star hotel with 350 rooms. The proposed hotel would therefore complement the stadium and surrounding commercial activities, serving visitors attending sporting events and other activities in the area.
Overall, Milan’s new stadium project reflects an ambitious approach to urban development, with the arena serving as the centrepiece of a broader mixed-use complex. However, the latest figures describe the planned investment rather than confirming the final costs or the definitive scope of each component. The coming stages of planning and implementation will determine how the various facilities take shape and whether the project meets its target opening ahead of Euro 2032.
