Futura Vacanze Expands Its Hotel Portfolio in the Brenta Dolomites

Futura Vacanze expands in the Brenta Dolomites with the acquisition and renovation of the former three-star Hotel Union in Folgarida. The company invested just under €15 million in the project, including the refurbishment works.

The 90-room property sits just 20 metres from the Belvedere cable car. It serves the Campiglio Dolomiti di Brenta, Val di Sole and Val Rendena ski areas. Following its transformation, the hotel will operate as Futura Club Avent Dolomites. It will join the group’s winter programme under a direct management model.

The renovation introduces several new facilities. These include a spa with an outdoor swimming pool and a multipurpose area for sports and children’s entertainment. Moreover, the acquisition adds the property to Futura Vacanze’s real estate portfolio.

The transaction reflects the company’s gradual shift from a traditional tour operator towards an integrated hospitality group. Its activities now include hotel operations and a dedicated real estate division. General manager Stefano Maria Simei announced this strategic direction earlier in the year. The approach follows similar developments at Alpitour World and Nicolaus-Valtur.

With the new opening, Futura Vacanze expands in the Brenta Dolomites and brings its directly operated portfolio to 15 hotels and resorts. Three properties belong to the group. Alongside the new Folgarida hotel, these include Futura Club Eleamare, a 149-room four-star resort in Cilento, and Futura Selected Rocca Dorada in Sardinia. The latter offers 100 rooms and is currently undergoing renovation.

The group also expects another year of strong financial performance. According to Simei, Futura Vacanze forecasts revenue of €102–104 million in 2026, marking its third consecutive year above €100 million. In addition, operating margins are expected to increase by around 38%. Strong results from Italian properties have helped offset difficulties in some international destinations affected by geopolitical tensions.

The Folgarida acquisition therefore represents both a real estate investment and a further step towards a more integrated hospitality business.
