Milu Bologna expansion starts as the group enters the city’s luxury hospitality market with a major redevelopment project. The company moves forward with the conversion of a historic 16th-century building in Via Ugo Bassi into a five-star hotel. As a result, Bologna will host its second five-star property and strengthen its high-end hotel offering.
The project transforms a former UniCredit-owned palace into a luxury hotel with around 50 rooms. In addition, Milu Bologna expansion includes architectural work led by Lenzi & Associati. The studio already works on several hospitality projects in the city. Early works focus on demolition and restoration activities. Authorities still need to approve final zoning and permits.
At the same time, the initiative runs through a dedicated company called Ugo Bassi 1 Srl. It is based in Milan like Milu Holding. The ownership structure includes investors from Poland, Cyprus, Israel, and Italy. Consequently, Milu Bologna expansion reflects a cross-border strategy focused on premium urban redevelopment.
Meanwhile, the group already operates hotels in Milan and Florence under the Milu and Calimala brands. It also explores new opportunities in Bologna. One proposal involved upgrading a nearby 3-star hotel into a higher-category asset through major investment. However, the owner rejected the offer.
Finally, Milu Bologna expansion confirms the company’s goal to strengthen its position in Italy’s competitive urban hospitality market. It continues to focus on luxury repositioning projects.
