Britannia Excelsior Hotel rebranded by Marriot

According to rumors, the Britannia Excelsior Hotel, once repositioned as 5 stars, will be rebranded. According to the source, the hotel will therefore be branded with a luxury brand from the Marriott portfolio, the Edition Hotels brand. Once redeveloped, the hotel will include more than 2,000 square meters of catering spaces with bars and restaurants overlooking the lake, a floating pool of 1,400 square meters, a beach area of ​​2,300 square meters and a building area of ​​4,000 square meters which will be transformed into a SPA, congresses and parking areas.

Part of the proceeds from the sale will be reinvested, by the transferring counterpart, on the repositioning of the other property in the locality: the Hotel Bazzoni. The pipeline of the Edition brand in Italy includes two more hotels: the Rome Edition (5-star with 95 keys) and the Milan Edition (5-star with 116 keys). Since 2010, the hotel has recorded growth in terms of both the volume of overall revenues and profitability.

In the destination of Como there are 9 5-star hotels for a total of 583 keys, of these, only 3 are chain hotels (Mandarin Oriental, Lario Hotels and R Collection Hotels).
