Sam Barrell is Director of Mixed-Use Development for Marriott International across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). Marriott International is the world’s largest hospitality company and the leading operator of branded residences. Sam is responsible for driving the growth of Marriott’s residential portfolio, which includes iconic brands such as The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, Bulgari, W, EDITION, The Luxury Collection, JW Marriott, Marriott, Westin, Le Méridien, Autograph Collection, Sheraton, Delta, Renaissance, and Tribute Portfolio. With over 15 years of experience, Sam has a proven track record in hotel and residential development throughout EMEA. Prior to joining Marriott, he led hotel development for CBRE in the UK and previously held development and strategy roles at IHG, Sonder, and Deloitte. Sam holds a master’s degree in chemistry from the University of Bath and is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA).
