Biography

Pietro Franza, a businessman from Messina, along with his mother Olga Mondello and brother Vincenzo Franza, leads the Gruppo Franza, which operates in Maritime Transport, Hospitality, Real Estate, Industry, and Telecommunications. With a background in Economics and Commerce and postgraduate specializations, he is also a chartered accountant. He has held executive positions in various Group companies and is active in Confindustria and public-private partnerships. Beyond his entrepreneurial work, he is committed to social, cultural, and sports initiatives, having contributed to the privatization of museum services and the promotion of Messina’s football team to Serie A. He taught sports marketing and tourism marketing at the University of Messina. In the 1990s, he developed the Framon Hotels chain (20 hotels) and subsequently introduced NH Hoteles to Italy, establishing NH Italia (now the largest Italian hotel company with approximately 80 hotels). He currently manages about 6 hotel properties for the Group. In the maritime transport sector, he supported the development of C&T Spa and managed significant financial agreements for Caronte & Tourist spa. He holds CEO positions in numerous Group companies and serves as President of Mandarin S.r.l. in the telecommunications sector.
