Jaume Tàpies

Founder & CO-Chairman – Boscalt Hospitality

With his substantial professional experiences in Hotel Management, International Hospitality Brand management, Real Estate developments and Financial Investments, Jaume Tapies co-founded Aina Capital in 2012.

Mr. Tapies has been International Chairman of the Board of Relais & Châteaux since 2005. He previously held other positions in the Relais & Châteaux organization, such as Secretary General and Director for Spain, Portugal and Latin America. As an active member of the WTTC (World Travel & Tourism Council), the global authority on the economic and social contribution of Travel & Tourism. WTTC unites the global leaders of the travel and tourism industry to promote sustainable growth for the industry, working with governments and international institutions to create jobs, to drive exports and to create prosperity.

Mr. Tapies was Vice-President of the Associated Members of the UNWTO and member of the MFPCA Board.

Since a very young age, Mr Tàpies desire has been to become a hotelier. He owns the Relais & Châteaux Hotel El Castell de Ciutat in La Seu d’Urgell (Spain) and is a director and shareholder of the Real Estate development company Gestora Hotelera SA (Andorra).

Mr. Tapies was an international cross country Ski champion. In 1989 he graduated cum laude in Hotel Management with specialization in Financial Management at Centre International Glion, Switzerland.
