Gonzalo has been in his current role as Chief Operations Officer for Europe since August 2020. Before this, he held the position of Area Vice President for Southern Europe since January 2017. In this role, he led our portfolio of managed and luxury franchised hotels across all brands in Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus and Malta. Prior to this role, Gonzalo served as Area Vice President, Eastern Europe with accountability for driving financial, operational, guest and associate excellence for over 37 hotels in 11 countries. Gonzalo joined Marriott in 1994 as Restaurant Manager at the Denver Marriott Tech, Colorado, USA.
