Biography

Andrew Agius Muscat is a seasoned management practitioner with expertise in tourism policy and international business development. He holds a BA Honours degree in Business Management and a Master’s degree in European Studies. Agius Muscat is a frequent speaker at training seminars and conferences and has served as an advisor, director, and chairman on various public and private sector boards and committees, including those at HOTREC, the World Bank and the European Parliament. His practical experience includes eight years as a consultant within the Office of the Prime Minister (Malta), where he focused on public sector change management initiatives, and subsequent CEO roles in the food production, distribution and retail, construction, and tourism sectors. A strong advocate for intellectual capital development through education, he has introduced professional development programs in benchmarking, service excellence standards, strategic leadership, and marketing for his teams. He is currently the CEO of the Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association (MHRA) and remains the co-founder and Secretary General of the Mediterranean Tourism Foundation (MTF).
