Erich Falkensteiner was born and raised as the first of two children in a small town in the Pustertal Valley in South Tyrol. He already discovered his enthusiasm for the tourism and hospitality industry at a young age and thus, after the early death of his father, took over the parental business “Lido Ehrenburgerhof” at the age of 20, which is still today managed as an extremely successful and renowned hotel.
Since then, Erich Falkensteiner has founded and successfully managed numerous businesses. Among many other companies, he is the founder, chairman, and co-owner of FMTG Falkensteiner Michaeler Tourism Group which includes 30+ Falkensteiner Hotels & Residences in 7 countries and more than 20 other companies. He is a gifted doer-type and networker. Since 2018 when he founded Falkensteiner Ventures, he has been passing on his experience in entrepreneurship to young entrepreneurs. With Falkensteiner Ventures he supports startups in the travel, F&B, hospitality and elderly care sectors, not only with investment but also with targeted know-how and network. The enthusiasm for his work and the constant creation of new innovations drive him on and thus the creativity for the implementation of new projects is still far from exhausted in his eyes.
