Expert in tourism and hotel management and development with an academic and operational background in the hospitality sector, Giorgio began his career in operations in BW and LHW hotels in 1999. In 2002 he joined ECONSTAT, the oldest company in Italy ( 1982) in the advisory for the tourism-hotel sector. From 2005 to 2011 he was part of the Travel, Leisure and Tourism division of KPMG. He becomes Head of Project Management of Horwath HTL (Rome office) in 2012 and Director from 2017 to 2019.
In parallel, he is adjunct professor at the University of Bologna (since 2012), lecturer at the Bocconi University and at the University of Pisa. He has 18 years of experience in assisting and advising investors, owners and developers in the hospitality sector, even outside Italy. From 2013 to 2020 he was the author of the annual report “Hotels & Chains in Italy”. He has published in the “Journal of Travel Research” (1st journal in the world ranking for the tourism area). MBA from St. John’s University in New York (2008) and Degree in Tourism Economics from the University of Bologna (2002). He is one of the founding members and director of THRENDS.
